Peggy Hatley Lyles

Peggy Hatley Lyles went to her reward on January 2, 2017. She was born on October 31, 1931 in Burlington, NC to the late Tilman and Hattie Gilbert Hatley. She married the love of her life Herbert (Hub) Lyles on August 11, 1949. She graduated from Central High School in Charlotte in 1949.

She was a long-time volunteer at Mercy Hospital and CMC Pineville. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and loved all of her sisters and brothers in Christ. Peggy embodied an amazing strength and inspired many with her words of encouragement for every situation.

Mrs. Lyles was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Herbert (Hub) Lyles. She is survived by her only and much loved sister Betty Hatley Plank, son Michael Lyles, daughter Judy Allison (David) and son David Lyles (Patty).

She leaves her grandchildren Keith Allison (Angie), Lori Archer (Chris), Jeremy Allison (Christy), and Greg Lyles. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, niece Melissa Fields (Sam) and nephew Michael Plank (Amie) to remember her unconditional love.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church, 6411 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Visitation will start at 11:00am and the service will be at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lyles requests memorials be sent to Sharon Baptist Church, Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region, or Charlotte Rescue Mission.
