Peggy Lucille Bryant Blume

She was born in Charlotte, NC, on May 15, 1929, to George Cleo Bryant (1898-1957) and Nora Jama Warren Bryant (1906-2000). She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gerald S. Blume (1926-2001), one sister, three brothers and her youngest son, Timothy Kevin Blume, Sr. (1961-1987).

She is survived by three children, Larry S. Blume and wife, Donna, of Holden Beach, NC, K. Allan Blume and wife, Pamela, of Chapel Hill, NC and Janice Blume Payne and husband, Rodger, of Asheville, NC.

She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jeremy Blume of Nashville, TN; Mark Blume and wife, Libby, of Raleigh, NC; Sherri Hagwood and husband, Daniel, of Spring Hope, NC; Angela Eeds and husband Gary of Nashville, TN; Jessica Krousel and husband Karl of Matthews, NC; and Kevin Blume of Wilmington, NC. She has eight great-grandchildren.

Peggy trusted Jesus as her Savior and served many leadership roles as a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC.

Until the last year of her life, she annually assembled many shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and made hundreds of blankets for hospitalized children through Project Linus. McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill is coordinating arrangements. The family will hold a graveside service on Saturday, December 16 at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road, Charlotte, NC at 2 pm.
