Peggy Norton Bass

Peggy Rose Norton Bass, age 84, passed away on 4/25/2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 3, 1934 in Sneads Ferry, NC, daughter of the late Annie Millis Norton Wiggins and William Lester Norton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters Laura Lee Davis, Mildred Carroll, Margie Mitchell and Susie Hill and one brother Bill Norton. Mrs. Bass is survived by Thomas Pickler, a devoted friend and caregiver for the past 27 years; son Eddie Bass (Valerie); daughters, Tissy Bass and Debi Bass Denny (Steve), 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved and cherished her time with.

Peggy’s formative years were spent in Sneads Ferry and Jacksonville, NC. She was a member of the Jacksonville Jaycettes and an active member and Sunday School Teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville. After relocating to Charlotte, NC she became a talented Floral Designer and an active member of the Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church and later Cornerstone Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8947 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC starting at 1:00. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with interment taking place at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte immediately following.

The family would like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care-Charlotte Region and the caregivers for all of the care and support they gave our family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
