Born in York, Maine on December 1, 1944, he was the son of the late James and Mary Quinn Dryden.
A member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, Paul graduated from Portsmouth High School, attended Paul Smith’s College, and retired as an Industrial Radiographer from Consolidated NDE. He enjoyed attending Panthers games and watching NASCAR races. He was kind, gentle, creative, hard-working, and an excellent Grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Gayle (Ballard) Dryden; 2 sons, Paul E. Dryden and wife, Kathleen, and Christopher Dryden and wife, Christine; 6 grandchildren, Gabriel, June, Beatrice, Patrick, Eric, and Lily; a sister, Patricia Perley and husband, Jim; a brother, John Dryden, and brother-in-law, Paul Owen; and 5 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Owen.
Visitation is planned for Friday, September 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4207 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215 at 10:00 am, with funeral mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Private committal services will take place at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
