Mrs. Troutman, 80, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on July 14, 2012 at River Landing in Colfax, NC. She was born on May 26, 1932 in Kings Mountain, NC, a daughter of the late Dee and Myrtle Yelton Harmon.
Mrs. Troutman was raised in Charlotte and graduated from Harding High School. She attended Queens College and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught French at North Mecklenburg High School. Mrs. Troutman later obtained a Master’s Degree in Media Sciences from Winthrop College. She was a Media Specialist at Carmel Junior High, and later Providence Senior High, where she retired in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Dennis F. Troutman.
Mrs. Troutman is survived by daughter, Mrs. Alison Weathers and husband Robert of Cornelius, granddaughter, Elizabeth and grandson, John; daughter, Mrs. Denise Carpenter and husband David of Chapel Hill and granddaughter, Emily.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Troutman will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4th at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Burial at Sardis Presbyterian Church will be private.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd at River Landing in Colfax.
