Patricia was born on August 16, 1953 in Charlotte to the late Jimmy and Nell Manies. She grew up in the Charlotte area and attended North Mecklenburg High School, where she graduated with the class of 1971.
In her younger days, she was a member of Oakgrove Methodist Church in Derita, and she worked for many years at The Charlotte Observer newspaper.
She loved NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, CBS Soap Operas, gardening, and making stained glass. She enjoyed walking along and shelling on Holden Beach, and she treasured the time she spent "taking care of the nephews!"
Those left to honor Patricia's memory include her husband, Scott J. Cornwell; her daughters, Jenny Cornwell and Brittany Utley; her grandson, Brexton Utley; her siblings, Donnie Manies and Judy Hayes; and her two dogs, Angus and Rex.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Temple of Truth Church, 232 Browntown Rd., Belmont, NC 28012, followed by a reception for friends and family.
