Born in Buchanan, TN on June 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Dollie Farris Phillips. She graduated from high school In Buchanan where she was an All-star center on the basketball team receiving a full scholarship to Mississippi State. She will always be remembered as a loving mother who always put others before herself and her love of country dancing.
Mrs. Mann was a member of Providence road church of Christ and retired in 1989 from AT&T where she had been employed as chief engineer.
Preceding her death on May 19, 1997 was her husband, Rex Earl Mann.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Earl Mann of Charlotte, NC and Mark Richard Mann with whom she resided; sister, Velda “Sissy” Bruhn and husband, Ralph of Moncks Corner, SC; grandson, Ramon A. Mann and wife, Toni of Indian Trail, NC; great granddaughter, Sophia Alexis Mann of Indian Trail, NC; niece Susan Simmons and husband, Doug; nephew, Stephen Bruhn and wife, Paulette; great nephew; Scott Pearson; great-great niece and nephew, Carol Gray Pearson and Scott Pearson all of Moncks Corner, SC.
Mrs. Mann’s wishes were no visitation or services. Friends are encouraged to visit with the family in their home at 7125 Twillingate Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.
