Niota Godfrey Hunt went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, October 20, 2020. She was born in January 25, 1927 in Charlotte, NC, where she lived, worked and raised her family. She loved God and her family and was active in her church, helping with Scouts, youth group, youth choir and organizing youth trips to Camp Lurecrest.
Niota was preceded by the love of her life and husband of over 50 years, Quillian; sisters Urby Lowrance and Ona Hooks. She was known as Mom, Nanny to her nieces and nephews and Grandma Odie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Steve (Jeanne) and Bobby (Susan); grandchildren Andrew Hunt (Zinaida), Zachary Hunt (Jordan) and Jessie Barreth (Wade); great grandchildren Ajla, Quinn and Henry.
Her faith in God was strong, steadfast and unshakable.

A service will be held at McEwen Chapel at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC on Saturday October 24, 2020 at 1:30 pm. Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
