Nina B. Bandy

Nina was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on the 27th of May, 1927, one of seven children to the late Wilson Oscar Benton and Minnie Sustar Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her loving husband, Bill L. Bandy.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Thursday, the 19th of December, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2727 Mt Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Ms. Bandy will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Nina Benton Bandy exuded a warm and caring spirit that made everyone who entered her presence feel welcomed and special. Her passion for family and faith was exemplified in the way she lived and treated others and through her wise and gentle guidance. Nina prided herself on her family and served as a devoted wife to her husband Bill, a nurturing mother to her children Darryl, Bobby, Pam and especially her Billy, and a doting ‘Granny’ to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nina will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her quiet strength, lipstick perfectly applied, and nary a hair out of place. Rest peacefully sweet Granny…

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to her church, Calvary Baptist Church.
