Nellie Perry Johnson

Nellie (Nell) Perry Johnson, 75, of Charlotte, North Carolina, born on September 14, 1947, entered the gates of Heaven on January 5, 2023. She reunited with her husband where she longed to be for the last 20 years.

Nell was a remarkable wife, mother, and nanny. She loved her family with every piece of her heart and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She was a devoted member of Gloryland Baptist Church.

She was preceded by her parents, Thomas and Margie Perry; her husband, Buddy Johnson; her sister, Wanda Snipes; and her brother Billy Perry.

Nell is survived by her daughter, Kim Towery (Bobby); her son, Buddy Johnson (Stephanie); her four grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Jeffrey King (Carolyn), Joshua Johnson (Ariel), and Jake Johnson; her six great-grandchildren, Caleb Clark, Emma Clark, Tanner Clark, Jeremiah Johnson, Lorelai Johnson, and Scottie Johnson; her brother, Buster Perry (Pat); her sister Gail Silbiger (Steve); and her sister-in-law, Betty Perry.

She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Jay Towery (Kim); David Towery (Leah); and Eric Towery (Tracie); seven step-great grandchildren, Randall, Abby, Mason, Faith, Kenzie, Nick, and Kylie; and her best friend, Dolly Jackson.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm. Nell will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
