She was born on March 19, 1935 in Carteret, NJ to the late Francesco “Frank” and Frieda Walz Bongiorno. She was the youngest of six children.
Nancy worked in the cafeteria at Independence High School for 30 years. She touched many students lives and was able to help them in more ways than she will ever know. She and Bob spent every winter, since retirement, in Florida. While she was in Florida, she joined the Camelot Quilters who spend their time quilting items for the Children’s Hospital in Tampa. They were able to donate over 400 quilts.
She also enjoyed line dancing. Nancy participated in line dancing in Charlotte and taught classes in Florida. She loved to cook, and her creations were always well received by her family. She enjoyed planting flowers, but was especially fond of roses. She also loved Hummingbirds. Nancy was a very independent lady and self-sufficient up until the week of her passing. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
