She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for 55 years and a member of the Charles Rhinehart Sunday School class with her many friends.
Nancy traveled with Haskell to every state, Russia, Ecuador, Monaco, France, Italy, Bermuda, England, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and other places.
In 1955 Nancy moved to Oakdale and met her lifelong friend Helen Marks. They both loved Myrtle Beach and they both had many tales to be told.
After earning her secretarial degree at Kings College in Charlotte, Nancy helped her husband, Haskell, setup a painting contracting business March 10, 1955. She and Haskell took real estate classes and earned their Real Estate License. Nancy used her secretarial skills and typed notes for the whole class. The teacher said it was the first time the whole class passed and made high grades. The class presented Nancy with a bouquet of roses.
Nancy loved Myrtle Beach and spent time there every year of her life. She was an avid reader of non-fiction. She also loved taking photos and making albums of every life event: trips, vacations, holidays, births of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also gifted the same with albums. All such treasures to view for her family.
She had deep love for her children and grandchildren. Spoiling them with surprises often. She baked with them and played games. She hid marble Easter Eggs for them all year long.
She leaves to cherish her sister Anita Greene of Fort Mill, SC, daughter Diane Bryant and husband Don of Dallas, TX; son James Cater and wife Marie of Charlotte, NC; granddaughters, Amy Leeson and husband Ben of Charlotte, NC; Amanda Walters and husband Drew of Mount Holly, and Caroline Cotton and husband Jake of Garland, TX; great-grandchildren Penelope, Sadie, Charli and James.
