Mitzi Wilson

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at All Saints Anglican Church at 3:00pm with the Rev. Canon M. Filmore Strunk officiating. You may visit with the family from 2:00-3:00pm before the service.

She was a stewardess with Eastern Airlines based in Charlotte where she met and married Patrick E. Wilson of Greenville, SC in 1961. They lived in Columbia, SC; Atlanta, GA; Hartford, CT; and Herndon, VA. After her husband’s death, she returned to Charlotte to live near family. She became active in church activities at All Saints Anglican Church serving on the Altar Guild, Chalice Bearer, organizing Daughters of the Holy Cross, as well as other committees. She was also very active in P.E.O. Chapter AF serving as President and other offices and aspects of the Chapter. She organized a chapter of the Red Hat Society and served as Queen Mum for many years.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years; her parents, Quentin and Frances Dossett, and step-mother Alice K. Dossett; her sister Rita Grant Throop, her step-brother Darryl K. Stanley; and step-niece Lynn Jenkins Weaver; as well as her grandparents.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn D. Dellinger and husband Douglas of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are her nephew, Stephen D. Dellinger (Sandra) and their children Jonathan, Patrick and Edward, of Charlotte, NC; Mark G. Wilson (Kristen) and their daughter, Blakely of Decatur, GA; Patricia W. Jones (Bradley) and their children Riley and Maggie, of Mooresville, NC; Georgia W. Reuter (Mason) and their children Elliott (Ellie) and Wilson, of Mooresville, NC; step-nephews John W. Jenkins (Michele) of Bear, DE; and Anthony Throop and his children Colin and Parker of Louisville, KY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. and Mrs. William G. Wilson of Pawleys Island, SC.

Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in McLean, VA.
