Michael "Wheelz" Edward Taylor

Mike was born on August 14,1963 in Charlotte NC to Vincent Taylor and Lynn Taylor.

Mike is survived by his father, Vincent Taylor, his mother, Lynn Taylor, brother, Vinky Taylor, sister in law, Kymra Taylor, nephew Joel Taylor, niece, Ashton Taylor Hamilton and great niece Shaylan Taylor.

Michael graduated from Garinger High School class of 1981 where he was on the varsity soccer team. In his youth years Mike played football, baseball and basketball at CYAC where he made wonderful memories and lifelong friends. Upon graduation from high school Mike began a career as an electrician until the fateful day in 1988 that changed his life forever.

He was confined to a wheelchair and would spend the rest of his life a paraplegic. Although he was unable to walk, he rolled through life without letting his handicap control him.

He traveled the country and did everything he wanted to do including playing wheelchair basketball for several years and mono-skiing in Colorado. Through his love of music, especially live music, he touched the lives of many. Mike also had a passion for supporting charities and promoting bands.

Services for Michael will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 with a Memorial Service beginning at 2 pm, followed by a visitation.
