Michael Wayne Campbell

Michael (Mike) Wayne Campbell,71, of Charlotte, NC passed peacefully in his home Monday, October 28th, 2024. Mike was a gentle man with a compassionate heart and fun spirit. He was the epitome of a family man, making pilgrimages whenever he could to catch up and visit, watch ball games, dance recitals, choir events, graduations, and countless other events. His friends describe him as a gentle man with a kind and compassionate soul that had a witty sense of humor and a great laugh. His fun spirit and sage wisdom will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Erin Harrower (partner Sean Miller,); grandsons, Nicholas Upton (wife Madisyn,) and Lucas Upton; granddaughter, Kara Harrower; great-grandchildren, Derek, Alaric, Ellanoire; brother, Bobby Campbell Jr. (wife Sharon,); sister, Theresa Houston (Husband Gerry,); and sister-in-law, Wendy Campbell. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Campbell Sr.; mother, Peggy Fox Campbell; and brother, Douglas Campbell.

Mike held an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and Masters of Business Administration from Winthrop University. He worked for over 50 years at Duke Energy, Duke Flur Daniel, and P3; he recently retired from the Board of Directors at Beehive Ventures.

He was most proud of his family and made sure everyone who would listen knew. He would often drive hours to catch up, play cards, or eat a meal, watch his daughter’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s life/sporting events, or at the local watering hole with his friends enjoying a beverage and trivia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McEwen Funeral Service 10500 Park Road Pineville, NC on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse to assist those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western NC.
