She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert “Bob” Nagel before his passing in 1978. They met in Paris, France which remained one of her favorite cities to which she traveled often. They had a once in a lifetime kind of love, and she remained faithful to him for the rest of her life wearing her wedding rings everyday. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Mark Nagel. She is survived by her other two children: Margaret (Dick) Richardson and Rob (Karen) Nagel. She was “Gigi” to 7 great grandchildren: Reagan (14), Kylie (12), Andrew (10), Fiona (10), Eli (10), Marklyn (10), and Berkly (7). She served her country as an Air Force nurse in France. She had a love for gardening, travel, operas and musicals, Scottish Terriers (of which she had 6), tennis, and card games such as bridge and solitaire. She played 3 games of scrabble with her amazing caregiver, Laura, on her last day. She often would end a conversation by saying, “Carry on!” Her family will strive to carry on her amazing legacy of hard work, grit, and deep love for one another. A private family service will be held at a later date.
