Mary Elizabeth Cooper Matthews, 69, of Charlotte, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at CMC University Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Ollie Mae Brown Cooper and sister of the late Davie Lee Cooper, Sr.
She was retired from Parkdale Mills, Plant 15 where she worked for twenty seven years.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Matthews; brother, William Sam “Bo” Cooper of Belmont; nieces, Denise O’Quinn of Gastonia and Sherry Covington of Pageland, SC; nephews, David Lee Cooper, Jr o Monroe and William Sam Cooper of Locust, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Forest Lawn West Chapel with Dr. David Douglas officiating. Interment will follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 12:00 until 1:15 PM .
