Born in XiangKhouang, Laos, Mary lived a life shaped by courage, compassion, and love. As a refugee, she journeyed from Laos to Thailand, then to France, and later to the United States, carrying the weight of her past with quiet strength. Through resilience and determination, she built a new life rooted in hard work, sacrifice, and a deep devotion to her family.
Despite life’s many challenges, Mary remained endlessly kind and deeply compassionate. As the steadfast provider for her family, she gave selflessly—offering her time, energy, and love without ever asking for anything in return. She often said her children were the lights of her life, but to all who knew her, she was the true light.
Mary passed after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, which she faced with the same quiet strength and grace that defined her life. Diagnosed in May 2024, she met each day with tenacity, choosing love and presence even in the face of pain. The way she conducted herself throughout her illness was an inspiration to us all—showing us the power of dignity, hope, and unwavering love, even in the hardest moments.
She found joy in the simple things: the laughter of children, the beauty of flowers, and the stillness of the world around her. Her spiritual path was open and reflective, exploring many traditions before finding peace in Buddhism, whose values—compassion, mindfulness, and grace—echoed her own.
Her gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
