Mary Marcel Helms, age 81, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Marcel was born March 29, 1941 in Cabarrus County to the late John R. Collins and Willie Gordon.
Marcel will always be remembered for her love of flowers, crafting and her animals. She had a contagious smile that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. She will be truly missed by all.
Marcel was preceded in death by her son Thomas Richard Williamson, Jr.; many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband David Charles Helms; son Mark (Capri) Williamson; stepchildren Charles (Darlene) Helms,Teresa (Gary) McCorkle and Sheila Taylor; sister Mae (David) Helms; brothers Johnny Collins and Perry Collins; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte beginning at 10am. Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Interment will take place at Sharon Memorial Park.
