She lived 93 fruitful years serving her Lord, husband, family and anyone who crossed her path. Most refer to Mary as a very special woman. Her family refers to her as the most amazing, loving, selfless and devoted Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother and Great Grand Mother. The joy of her life was her family.
Mary was born in Winchester, TN on July 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Auburn and Mary Ray. She lived in Tennessee, Daytona Beach, FL and most recently in Charlotte, NC.
Mary and Eugene were married for 75 years and had two daughters, Dianne and Teresa. Mary was the controller of the construction company she and Eugene founded, building smaller beachside motels and residential homes in Daytona Beach for over 50 years. She was also an Executive Secretary for the Physical Education Department at the Daytona Beach Community College for fifteen years.
Her areas of interest were being an active member of multiple churches, most recently Riverbend Community Church, and Women’s Palmetto Club and Halifax Garden Club.
While Mary will be missed immensely by so many, we rejoice that God has called her home where pain and suffering no longer exist, following a long illness. She will live in our hearts forever. God has received one of his most precious angels.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Pinkston and son-in-law, Glen Pinkston, daughter, Teresa Kelley, granddaughter Angela Grayson and grandson-in-law Lee Grayson, grandson, Travis Pinkston and great grandchildren Bailey, Caleb and Avery Grayson.
Mary’s resurrection service will be held at Riverbend Community Church in Daytona Beach, FL at 1:00 pm on June 26, 2021, with the internment following at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach, FL.
