Mrs. Mary Ann Guthrie, daughter of the late David Samuel and Annie Belle Thompson was born on March 27, 1938 in Kings Mountain, NC. Mrs. Guthrie was owner and operator of The Blue Velvet Poodle Parlor for 39 years.
Mary Ann was a member of Word of Faith West where she served as a Chairman of the Executive Board, Trustee and Treasurer. She loved to travel, take care of her poodles and share precious time with her loving family.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Samuel Guthrie, Sr. of the home; two sons, Samuel (Debra) Guthrie, Jr. and Johnny (Veda) Guthrie, Sr. both of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Carol (Emmerson) Guthrie Sartor of Jacksonville, NC; one sister, Evangelist Selma Bordeaux; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and very dear friends.
