Mary Francis Duke McClure Parr

She was born in Charlotte, NC on April 28, 1928 to the late James Keith and Vesta Todd McClure. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Parr Hammond. Mary Frances attended Long Creek School in Charlotte. Following that, she worked at Belk Department Store. After raising her three children, she became a day care teacher. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also an accomplished vocalist, artist and decorator. She enjoyed her flowers and gospel music.

She is survived by her son, Vernon Dowless and wife Deborah; son-in-law, Mike McClure and partner, Bonnie Pearson; daughter, Mary Jane Witter and husband, Don; sister, Billie Mozeley; four grandchildren: Dallas McClure; Emily Ambs and husband, Damian; Will McClure; and, Lee Dowless and wife Elisbeth; great-grandchildren: Missourie Wilson, Scout McClure, Benjamin Ambs, Ollie Ambs, Alyssa Dowless and Andrew Dowless. We thank and appreciate Grace Rice for being a devoted caregiver and friend.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte at 1:00p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2015, to be followed by a memorial service at 2:00p.m. Interment will be in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery at 6230 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte.
