Mary Ellen Crowell Long

Mary Ellen Crowell Long, 75, of Charlotte, passed away February 25, 2013, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Mrs. Long was born January 31, 1938 in Charlotte, NC, where she resided until her death. She attended Harding High School and graduated in 1956. She was a telephone operator and worked for Southern Bell, North Carolina National Bank and for various answering services around Charlotte. She enjoyed being out in nature, the sounds of beach music and the company of small animals. She was the daughter of the late Dwight and Lucille Crowell. She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Henry Reid Long; her sister Vicky Jones, her brother Sonny Crowell, dear friend Linda Long and lifetime friend Gloria Davis. The family would like to give a word of special thanks to the caregivers at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC for the warm and compassionate care they provided.
