Martha L. Moore

She was born January 15, 1924 to her parents Munlen Ezell Robertson and Minnie Lee Wright in York County, SC.

Louise was a homemaker and later worked for the NC State school system at Eastway Jr. High school in food service. She also loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Not only was she a talented seamstress who taught her grandchildren how to knit, sew and do many arts and crafts, Louise had quite the green thumb. It seemed she could get anything to grow, always trying to give away some of her beautiful plants.

Louise had a strong Christian faith and was a long time member of Allen Street Baptist which later became Shamrock Drive Baptist where she taught Sunday school to 4 year olds and was very active in her church. She was currently a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and still attended as often as she could.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Samuel Edward Moore, a WW II veteran and by her daughter Nancy Moore Powell.

Louise is survived by her son, James Edward Moore and his wife Victoria; grandchildren, Mishael Barton, Christie Benoit, Samuel Moore, Molly Brownlee and Suzanne Pace as well as her niece Joyce Huey and 13 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks and appreciation to granddaughter Christie Moore Benoit and Affordable Home Care for their tender caregiving for Mrs. Moore for several months this past year.

Family members will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10th at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road with a service to follow in the Chapel with Pastor James Weddington of Eastern Hills Baptist officiating. Graveside service immediately after in Sharon Memorial Park.
