Martha Mae Penninger Hargett, age 94, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Asbury Care Center. A native of Union County, she was a daughter of the late Jay Penninger and Lela Smith Penninger. Mrs. Hargett was a former member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, November 15th, at Sharon Memorial Park with Pastor Timothy S. Nichols officiating. A catered reception will follow the graveside service in the funeral home.
Mrs. Hargett is survived by a daughter, Brenda Wallace and husband Jimmy, of Charlotte; a son, William R. Hargett and wife Terry, of Charlotte; two brothers, Wiley Penninger, of Monroe, Garry Penninger and wife Margie, of Monroe; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Penninger, of Monroe.
Mrs. Hargett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hargett.
