A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. McConnell was born to the late Lois Ries Van Sant and Ernest M. Van Sant on November 17, 1930. She was a past member of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
Mrs. McConnell is survived by her husband, Robert W. McConnell of the home; son, Daniel W. McConnell and wife Elizabeth of Flanders, NJ; grandchildren, Matthew W. McConnell, Richard "Rick" McConnell both of Flanders, NJ and sister-in-law, Jeanette McConnell of Macon, GA.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Thursday, September 9 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with the Rev. Ron Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
