“Mary”
Mrs. Blanton, 87, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on February 28, 2011 at her home. She was born on February 12, 1924 in Camden, NJ, a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Smith Taylor.
She relocated to Charlotte as a child and went on to graduate from Harding High School with honors. She was Secretary-Treasurer of Data Systems Machine Company for a number of years.
Mary was a long-time member of Providence United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Emroy Blanton, daughters, Marilyn V. Blanton and Susan Blanton Senn, and husband, Charles; and beloved grandson Charlie Senn.
A service by the graveside will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Sharon Memorial Park with the Reverend Tillie Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, March 1st at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to the American Cancer Society.
