In Loving Memory of Maria Mederios Broome, known to many as “Connie”. She joined her Heavenly Father on December 7th, 2016. She passed peacefully in her sleep at 2:18 AM. She fought many health issues for many years and was truly a strong and loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on January 1st, 1930 in Portugal and came to this country after marrying her husband Bobby Harrison Broome who was a U.S. Serviceman.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Harrison Broome; by her daughter, Sherry Broome Whitley and husband Charles; by her granddaughters, Christina Freeman and husband Greg, Hali Cook and husband Collin, Allison Tzuanos, Kayla Whitley and Jessica Whitley. She also has four great-grandchildren: Silas Tzuanos, Brantley Cook, Kyle Freeman and Gabriel Castro.
Maria made friends everywhere she went and never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with everyone she encountered. Her favorite place was Sam’s Club—everyone knew her there. She had a love of crocheting, gardening and particularly her rose bushes and the many plants in her sunroom. She loved all of her family dearly and will be missed by everyone. She always tried to maintain her sense of humor throughout her illness and we take comfort that she is in peace now, with the Lord.
A visitation for Maria will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
