Margaret Helton Miller

Margaret Helton Miller, 85, of Mount Holly, NC, passed away October 16, 2024, in Valdese, NC. Born July 16, 1939, in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee & Ila (Lee) Helton. She married Joseph Miller on October 29, 1960, and he preceded her in death on August 15, 2011.

A graduate of Mount Holly High School, Margaret retired from the Gaston County School System. She was a faithful member of Lifebuilders Church of God.

An avid reader, she enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Everyone has a mother, a mom or a mama. Yet for our family, Margaret Miller was so much more than these namesakes.

Words seem hard to express our love for this woman who was a friend, a confidant, a servant, a force of dedication, love and devotion. A faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was an example of kindness, dignity and grace.

Her life will not be defined by the battle she fought in the end, but by the love of Christ that lived in her. By the life she freely gave to her family and the sacrifices she made to not just share the Gospel but to live it.

Margaret, Mom, Grandma…you are forever in our hearts, forever in our minds and forever in the arms of the God you served. Until we see you again…We Love You.

Survivors include her children, Wayne (Debbie) Miller, Alan Miller and Sandra (Samuel) Crowe; grandchildren, Kayla (Drew) Pearson, Tara (Cody) Lankford, Megan (Kendall) Phillippie, Chloe (Kameron) Lewis, Caleb (Ashley) Crow, Kyle Crow and Jordan Miller; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ruby, Delaney, Adalyn and Gemma; brother, Carroll (Carol) Helton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Paul Helton; sisters, Frances Morgan and Ruby Matthews.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be at 4:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Lifebuilders Church of God, Pastor Sam Wood and Pastor Don Whichard officiating. Visitation will be at the church following the service. Interment 11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2024, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
