Peggy previously resided in New York before settling in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Stony Brook University and Post College with a master’s degree of Education. She was employed by the Sachem School District before retiring in 2000.
Peggy was a parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church and active in Rosary Makers, Food Pantry, Arts and Environment. She Prayed at the Latrobe Abortion Clinic, led the Rosary, and was a Eucharistic Adoration Adorer. She enjoyed decorating, travel, cooking and walking. She spent most of her time praying. Peggy will be most remembered for honesty, kindness and encouragement.
She is survived by, and will be dearly missed, by her brother, John Lordan and his wife Nancy; her three sisters: Irene and her husband Donald Peeler, Mary Ann and her husband Doug Weeks, and Regina Lordan. She is survived by six nieces and two nephews and numerous dear friends and neighbors.
Peggy’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Hospice staff for their wonderful care, members of St. Matthew Catholic Church, and her Amber Meadow’s neighbors for their many acts of kindness and support during her illness.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte, NC 28277. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
A committal service will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Dr., Weddington, NC 28104.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to your favorite charity.
