The daughter of Ephraim Eugene Burris and Essie Mae Hinson, Margaret graduated from Ridgecrest High School and earned a two year business degree from college. She worked as a purchasing agent for the American Red Cross and retired after serving 37 years.
She loved spending time visiting with her family and attending Woodlawn Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for 72 years. Margaret loved spending time in her garden where she lovingly tended to her zinnias, sunflowers and daisies. Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peppers, okra, potatoes and lettuce were just some of the vegetables grown in the garden she worked in with Marvin. The family canned many of the vegetables they grew.
Margaret was a loving, generous and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who led a long and full life.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin Ray Curlee who passed in 1998 and siblings Julius Burris, Grant Burris, Carl Burris, Sarah Davis and Marene Burris.

The family would like to thank Evelyn Diallo, mom’s caregiver, for her dedication and devotion during the past three years.
