Mrs. Uzzell was my sixth grade teacher at Hidden Valley a long time ago.  As a sixth grader I though she was a very tough teacher.  As an adult, I realize she was one of the best teachers I ever had.  Many of the things she drilled into our heads helped me the rest of the way through school, college, and even after I was out in the working world.  I will always remember her and still to this day when talking about school days always remember my sixth grade teacher and all I learned from her.

So sad to hear about Mrs. Uzzell.  She was my 4th grade teacher at Myers Park Traditional many years ago.  Of all the teachers I had, she was one I had much respect for...she pushed us to do our best.  I learned so much from her and will remember her fondly.

I always enjoyed bowling with Lucille.  I do remember givng her the shirt off my back one night after bowling.  She was a wonderful lady and always made you smile when you were in her presence.
I wish I could have made the funeral.  May her memories keep you warm and make you smile.

Donna and Monte, We are so sorry for your loss. I know your feelings of losing a mother. Lucille was a special lady who left a wonderful legacy. I remember well the tribute she wrote for my grandmother. She and your dad are now living among the angels in the arms of Jesus together.

Donna, I can't begin to imagine what you are going through right now.  You are so independent and strong, yet I know there is a little girl whose heart is broken.  You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you adjust to what lies ahead.  Lord, please cradle Donna in Your loving arms, comfort her and let her head rest on Your shoulder. I was shocked to see this. Miss Uzzell was my teacher at Druid Hills Elementary but I have not seen her in many years. I will always think of her when I hear "Little Green Apples" (smile).

Mrs. Uzzell was my sixth grade teacher and I have her to thank for the penmanship awards I won. She was a stickler for good handwriting! We'll miss Mrs. Uzzell in "the Hills and the Valley" (Druid Hills and Hidden Valley).

I did not know Lucille except through her daughter Donna. I am sad to see that we lost this loving woman who was not only a mother to Donna but a friend also. My family's thoughts and prayers go out to Donna and her family.
