Met Lloyd many years ago at the University of Guyana where he taught part-time. We really made contact again within the last 6 years. We would exchange thoughts about petroleum exploration activity in Guyana and the development of residential solar technology. We always had engaging exchanges. I had not heard from Lloyd for a while. Suddenly the death announcement comes. His passing is indeed a surprise for me. Thank you, Lloyd, for all our wonderful exchanges. May you rest in peace.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences over the passing of Dr. Blenman who was my International Finance professor at UNC Charlotte and later became my friend, Lloyd.

Please know that Lloyd will be remembered for being a great man, gentleman, respectful, trustworthy, kind, compassionate, generous, empathetic, intelligent, linguist and a friend. His legacy lives on in all the lives he touched.

First I want to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Blenman family.  Lloyd was very committed to his family and extremely proud of his sisters.  I have known Lloyd for twenty-two years, we met in 2000, and he was always a combination of shy, humble, well-spoken, highly intelligent, super focused, loving, supportive, and encouraging.

Lloyd always had a plan, he knew what he wanted to accomplish professionally and how it could change the world.  He spent countless hours researching and writing.  There were many nights that he did not sleep, he was energized by his work, this was his fuel.  His perspective on life, and how people could change the world was amazing. 

 No topic was ever off limits with Lloyd.  He had a thrust for knowledge, with an endless desire to share the knowledge, help others, to set a pathway for a better world.

He had an infectious laugh and like to play practical jokes.  He loved his Ford Taurus and driving very fast!  I would often tell him he should be a race car driver/financier.

I remember when Lloyd first purchased the house in Charlotte, I would tease him about babysitting the grass, he did not think it was growing properly, but he was not a gardener though he tried.
Lloyd will be missed, but his contributions will live on forever, along with the memories.  He achieved excellence, may he rest in peace!

For the short time I met you, you exuded brilliance. You set yourself up as a beacon for family members to follow and they did not fail. It was you that catapulted their success. You can rest in peace. Mission accomplished. 

Uncle Lloyd will surely be missed. You were always there to encourage us in our educational aspirations with a gentle guiding hand and always supportive. I'm grateful to have known you. 
You lived well, loved and supported your family. He  gained the respect of his colleagues. He leaves the world better than he found it. ❤

To the Blenman's  family you have my deepest sympathy.  I haven't seen Lloyd for over 45 year and was his neighbour on  Durban Street, Lodge ,Guyana.  I would like to make contact wit his sister Beryl.  I must say Rest in Peace and rise in glory.   

Dr. Blenman is one of the kindest men I know. He always went the extra mile to help; I have lost count of the number of times he wrote recommendation letters on my behalf. He was an advisor, a mentor, and a friend. We were working together on a paper and until a few months ago, we were actively discussing our work. Then, suddenly, he fell ill. I visited him a few weeks ago, but it was not the reunion I had expected.

I am deeply saddened by his passing. However, at the same time, I am consoled that his life was lived helping and impacting knowledge to others. I am grateful that I got to know him, and that I was blessed by his presence on this earth.

I have known Lloyd since I joined the Finance Department at UNC Charlotte 20 years ago.  He was a great colleague and friend. So many people around the world have been touched and enlightened by Lloyd’s intellectual gifts, and he was generous in sharing these gifts. He always found time to teach, mentor, and collaborate. Lloyd’s contributions to academics will live on, as will his memory in the hearts and minds of those of us fortunate enough to know and to work with him.

Where there is life, there is death and this adage we have heard from time immemorial. Yet, we are never prepared when our loved one leaves this realm. News of Lloyd’s death caught me by surprise because that was not a thought in my mind when last we spoke. Although he was recuperating from his surgery/hospital stay, I got the sense that he was on his way to recovery, but alas it was not to be.

Lloyd has been my friend for 45+ years; we were introduced by a friend of his who came to my house to visit a friend of mine. We found out we had a lot in common and immediately struck up a friendship. Over the years as life happened, we fell out of contact a few times but whenever we reconnected, we behaved as though no time has passed. He has been my late night/early morning “gaff buddy” for the last 10+ years and I’m going to miss our regular chats about various topics, especially politics and the state of the world. Although Lloyd was smart and achieved great academic success, he was humble, decent and kind. He had high standards which caused him the most angst; he had to work hard at tempering his disappointment in what he saw as a lack of effort by others. 

Lloyd had an interest in foreign languages but his passion was speed; he loved to drive fast cars. Even within the confines of Charlotte, he managed to drive fast enough to scare me, someone who considers herself to be a speed queen. He loved his sisters/family and as the eldest sibling, he sought over the years to provide them with a firm foundation and steady hand. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. I am saddened by my friend’s passing and I will miss him dearly. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace. 

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Professor Llyod Patrick Blenman.  Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for his passing. He was a great mentor, always supportive and willing to go the extra mile to help people. The world will be a better place if we had many people like Professor  Blenman.
He will be missed and will never be forgotten, may his soul rest in peace. 

Lloyd loves fast cars and driving fast--so do I. But not his type of fast. 35 years ago I road from Oxford, MS to Memphis, TN with Lloyd with  my right hand tightly gripping the arm rest and my left hand extended to brace myself against the dash. He was laughing almost the entire distance. That day was the last day I road in a car with him. Separate cars--that's the way we did things together. He will be sorely missed.

My brother was my world. You have left a legacy of exemplary contributions to academia . UNCC  Belk Business Collage Finance Department will never be the same without you.

As I write this note, I am reflecting on the numerous spirited conversations that Lloyd and I have had over the many years. It is difficult to accept that these conversations have come to an end.I am happy that we have had those opportunities. Very sad about his passing. He is gone too soon. My deepest condolences to Lloyd's family, friends, and colleagues. 

Lloyd was a deeply thoughtful, considerate man. He was a faithful friend of over 40 years. His love for education, development of his profession, and passion for learning was evident in the articles he published and edited and the students he mentored. My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Uncle Lloyd was an exceptional human, whom I met for the first time at his father’s (my great grandfather) funeral. His personality was warm and with that our relationship began despite the circumstances in which we met. We would communicate via emails and Linked In as often as we could, even if it’s to check in to see if all was well and inform him of my endeavours to which he was always supportive. 
 Our first correspondence was a teachable moment and it made me cognisant of how I communicate. As a teenager who was communicating as teenagers would didn’t stop to assess my diction and was promptly corrected. I was perplexed but mostly I was thankful that he did. 
Our last correspondence we shared our anticipation of meeting and having him meet his great great nephew. He was always trying to connect with our relatives because family is important. Uncle Lloyd you will be missed. Continue to Sleep in Peace. ❤️

I never got a chance to meet Uncle Lloyd, but we would chat in LinkedIn about different topics. He surprised me with his Portuguese . I would not have imagined that I had a next family member that was fluent in Portuguese. 
Besides that little bind we would talk abouf how nice it would be to meet all of our family ... but life has different things planned. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the conversations  we had. He was an excellent mentor,
 always sending me some courses for me to check out. He is gone physically .. but forever in our hearts.

Professor Filippo Zatti and I are deeply saddened by the news of the untimely passing away of Professor Llyod Patrick Blenman.  I had the great privilege to get acquainted with him only a couple of years ago, and I was blown away by his kindness. While Prof. Zatti (University of Florence) and I were working on academic research, we thought to write Prof. Blenman to involve him in our project as well. He quickly responded and provided great support, from the USA to Italy, as if we had always known each other. He possessed the talent to navigate these challenging times and the generosity of spirit to share his knowledge, that will live with us.
