Lisa Webb Ford, 60, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at home, after a courageous one year battle with cancer. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on November 19, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Coy Lee Webb and the late Dana Wiles Webb.
She graduated from Independence High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She spent her career in the restaurant industry, where she served many regular guests who became family to her and made friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Lisa’s most cherished job, however, was that of mother and wife. On September 24, 1994, she married the love of her life, Thomas Leslie Ford of Charlotte. She was a devoted mother to their two children, Jessie and John. She attended all school and sports activities, volunteered on field trips, and planned many birthday parties. She valued family traditions and vacations – traveling to the mountains in December to cut down a Christmas tree, hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and hosting family and friends each summer at North Myrtle Beach. She was famous for saying she needed a vacation after vacations, as she spent trips ensuring everyone was well-fed, well-rested, and had re-applied sunscreen. Her family and friends were the blessings she valued most.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Thomas Leslie Ford, and their children Jessica Lynn Ford and John Harrison Ford. She is also survived by her brother Mark Webb; as well as sisters-in-law Kim Smith, Margaret Lynn, Trisha Whitesides and husband Terch Whitesides, and Donna Thrasher.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends following the service in the Dilworth Fellowship Hall.
The family is indebted to the wonderful care she received from the doctors and staff of the Levine Cancer Institute and Gentiva Hospice.
