Linda Helms Plummer

Born April 8, 1941 in Charlotte, “Poochie” was the daughter of the late Clyde Decostie and Laura Louise Helms. She attended West Mecklenburg High School. She enjoyed several jobs including Olan Mills Photography, Heinz Motor Freight, Oakdale Arcade (Proprietor) and Oakdale Community Center. Her most rewarding and life-long job was being a wife and a loving mother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Decostie Helms and wife Anita, Sister-in-Law Rita Helms, nephews Tommy “Tuck” Vann Helms, Jr. and Ryan Heath Helms.

Poochie’s family, whom she loved unconditionally, includes her husband of 54 years, Larry Plummer, son Michael Plummer and wife, Jennifer, daughter, Michelle McClure, and two wonderful grandchildren, Lauren McClure and Jackson Plummer, brothers Tommy Vann Helms, wife Cathy and Randy Dale Helms, wife, Karen. Niece Lori Radford, husband Vann and nephews, Tracy Helms, wife, Suzanne and Telly Helms, wife, Michelle. Her lifelong neighbors and friends, the Bryant Family and the Puckett Family. Her beloved dog, Daisy.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Reverend Billy Towery officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
