Linda was born January 5, 1942, in Durham, NC, daughter of the late Charles A. and Frances Erdine Roach. She graduated from Durham High School in 1960 and Watts Hospital Nursing School in 1962 and furthered her education at Anesthesia School in Raleigh. Linda was a nurse anesthetist at Presbyterian Main Hospital for 39 years. She was a faithful member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church and did lots of volunteer work with Vacation Bible School, Cut Ups and in the Library at Hickory Grove Baptist Christian School. She loved going on her church's senior trips and enjoyed going to the senior luncheons. Linda loved going to the beach and camping with her late husband and son Chris. She also loved going to see her granddaughter cheer and her grandson play basketball and baseball. She enjoyed visiting her brother, Harvey, and his family in Cape May, NJ and her niece, Melissa in Kannapolis. Linda was an energetic, lively, spunky lady with a contagious smile. She will be greatly missed by her family and many who had the good fortune to have known her.
Linda is survived by her son, Chris Campbell and his wife Kristi; grandchildren, Cassidy and Camden Campbell; brother, Harvey Roach and his wife Kathy from Cape May, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her late husband, Charles “Dick” Campbell; sister, Frances Humphreys and brother Tom Roach.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel. Burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Christian School Library in her honor.
