Lee was born February 21, 1925 in Nashville, Tennessee to George O. Allain, Jr. and Helene S. Allain. She grew up in New Orleans, LA and spent her summers with her grandparents in St. Francisville, LA in the country. She attended Loyola University studying Health Sciences, and worked as a Lab Technician in Charlotte, NC for several physicians from 1959 until 1985. Then she moved to Stone Mountain, GA where she continued to work at Parasitic Disease Control in Tucker, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard H. Wooten; her sister, Dorothy Stevenson Allain; and her brother, George O. Allain, III. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Allain Von Hollen of Chattanooga, TN; four children, Richard H. Wooten, Jr, Robert H. Wooten (Burma), Sara W. Myers (Homer) and Helene “Missy” W. Townsend (David); five grandchildren, Sara “Sally” W. Baker (Ryan), Rafe T. Wooten, Claire W. Rhodes (Chris), Elizabeth “Liz” A. Wooten, John R. Wooten; five great-grandchildren, Lawson Rhodes, Colin Baker, Emory Rhodes, Logan Baker and Lilie Baker; a niece and nephew of Chattanooga, TN; and several Louisiana cousins.
A Memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 144 Caldwell St., Rock Hill, SC at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Visitation will be held from 3:00-3:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial in the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Georgia will be held at a later date.
