Leon has been collecting and hording ‘nerd’ memorabilia for the majority of his life. The collecting became his hobby and then his second career known as Get Some Game. His wife wasn’t thrilled with the collecting of memorabilia because it ended up all over the house. Half of his memorabilia was sold to open the OG Get Some Game.
Within the first month of the OG Get Some Game being open, the gamers ran out of space resulting in some gamers playing on the floor or the tailgate of the truck. All walks of life who went to the OG store remember how engaging Leon was and the culture he built.
The gaming family realized we needed to expand the GSG footprint and moved to the current location at 1224 Commercial Ave. The culture evolved to include our OG GSG gamers who continued to grow the community.
Leon loved to discuss his only son’s accomplishments. The fun the group had together will always be etched in the memories of those who Leon influenced.
Let’s continue to keep the authenticity that Leon wanted to extend to all the souls that walk through the doors.
OH! He also worked for PNCBank for 10 years then Wells Fargo for 22 years, was married for 32 years and celebrated GSG’s 12th anniversary.
