Lena Nannie G. Rogers

Lena G. Rogers, 91, of Pineville went to be with her Lord on January 12, 2011. A long-time resident of Pineville, she was a former member of Pineville United Methodist Church and worked at Cato Corporation. Lena was well known for her cakes and she shared them generously with all her family and friends. She was one of the most unselfish, caring individuals anyone could know.

Lena was predeceased by her husband, Jack P. Rogers and a great nephew whom she adored, Ricky Van Johnson; three sisters, Martha Cooke, Peggy Griffin, Elizabeth Newell and Louise Griffin; and a brother, George B. Griffin, Jr. She is survived by her sister Betty (Herbert) Carrouth and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at Pineville United Methodist Church 110 S. Polk St. Pineville, NC 28134. Visitation will follow the service. Friends may pay their respects to Lena on Saturday, January 15, 2011 during 9:00am to 4:00pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210. Interment will be private.
