Lawrence C. Talbot, long-time Charlotte realtor, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 12, 2010. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy, daughter Michele Talbot, daughter Jennifer Talbot Trakimowicz and her husband, Paul, brothers W. Lee and his wife Joy, Everett and his wife Katrinka, nephews Brett and Jennifer Talbot, Greg and Jennifer Talbot and granddaughter, Lindsay Trakimowicz. Lawrence was born July 13, 1944, grew up in Charlotte and started Talbot Realty Company in 1979. He was a Major in the North Carolina National Guard for 17 years. Lawrence served on numerous committees of the North Carolina Board of Realtors, was past President of the Charlotte Board of Realtors for two years from 1997 to 1998 where he also chaired and served on many committees. He received the Realtor of the Year in 1999. Lawrence was also a member of the Scottish Rites of the Masons. His insight in the North and South Carolina appraisal and real estate markets led to Lawrence being a respected professional throughout the real estate community. “Larry” loved his wife, daughters, grandchild, family and friends. His love of life and laughter was felt by everyone he met. He will never be forgotten.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harry & Bryant Funeral Home located at 500 Providence Road. Visitation with the family will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the American Heart Association or Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region.
