Lawrence Goelz

Lawrence J. Goelz, 83, of Charlotte passed away on March 28, 2016. Born in Milwaukee, WI on December 29, 1932, Larry graduated from Marquette High School in 1951 and Marquette University in 1955. He attended Butler University for post graduate studies. As an accountant for Celanese-Fiber Industries, Larry and his family relocated to Charlotte. He later worked for Cummins Atlantic and eventually had his own business in financial planning. Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Goelz; daughters, Beth (Bobby, deceased) McCain, Mary Powell and Jane (Doug) Buckey; sons, Stephen (Margie) Goelz, Dr. John (Lynn) Goelz, Edward Goelz and Thomas (Lisa) Goelz; 12grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Cleone) Goelz; sister, Lucie (Joseph, deceased) Tarantino; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Judy Lefebvre and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday April 1 from 7 – 8:30 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday April 2 at 10:15 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Rd, Charlotte. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
