Laura Elizabeth Boyd

Born in Mt. Airy, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Collins and Opal Kathleen Monday Collins Thompson. Mrs. Boyd was retired as a Manager at Hamrick’s and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, Mrs. Boyd is survived by a son, Steve “Mick” Boyd and wife Chrissy; two sisters, Diane Harris, and Cindy Gray and husband John; a brother, Bill Thompson and wife Jossetta; five grandchildren, Victoria Christian Boyd, Stephani Campbell (Bill) and their son Brody due in January, Dalton Boyd (Ashlie) and their daughter Riley, Avery Hillis, and Cade Hillis; a daughter-in-law, Donna Shue (Tommy); a son-in-law, Kevin Hillis (Christine) and her sons, Zac and Max; a nephew, Rick Thompson; and a niece, Amanda Boening. She was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Michelle “Shell” Hillis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
