Khang’s untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his passion for film, his love for adventure, and his zest for life.
Born on November 12, 1979, in Morgan City, Louisiana. At a young age, Khang quickly developed a love for the arts. He spent nearly three decades working on commercials, short films, and feature-length movies. Known for his creative vision, dedication, and collaborative spirit, Khang’s work contributed to many successful projects across the film world. His impact was not only felt on the screen but also in the hearts of the filmmakers and artists who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Khang’s life was rich with travel and adventures that went far beyond his work. He had an unparalleled love for good food and many fond memories revolving around attending concerts and shows, and exploring local small businesses wherever he went. He always had a knack for finding a local jazz bar or a cool art exhibit in every city he visited. He saw the world through a curious and adventurous lens, always seeking out new experiences and connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. His enthusiasm for life and his ability to find joy in the simplest things will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Khang is survived by his beloved siblings, nephew and nieces, large extended family, and countless friends who became his extended family through the years. He is reunited with his Father, Binh Van Mai, and Mother, Thu Thi Do.
Please join us in honoring and remembering Khang on Friday, December 13, 2024, at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210. The viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a special prayer service at 7:00 PM. Following the prayer, we invite family and friends to share memories and offer speeches in celebration of Khang's life.
A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Vietnamese Catholic Church, 4929 Sandy Porter Rd., Charlotte, NC 28273.

Khang’s legacy of creativity, adventure, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories he told, the films he helped create, and the memories he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Khang. You will forever be loved and remembered.
