Kaye Harward Lambert

The youngest of seven children, Kaye and her twin sister Veigh were born on February 19, 1939 in Stanly County, NC to the late Grady Daniel Harward and Jane Elizabeth Harward.

When she was in her early twenties, Kaye met her future husband, Martin, at a square dance. She was drawn to his beautiful blue eyes, and the two were wed soon after. They enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage until Martin’s passing in 2013. Kaye and Martin raised three daughters in Charlotte, where they made their permanent home.

As a devoted Christian and longtime member of Sunset Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, Kaye was very active in the church. She worked in the nursery for 40 years, gave sacrificially to missions and other special projects, and enjoyed participating in several mission trips over the years. Her Sunday School class and the Sunlighters added great joy to her life. Blessed with a true servant’s heart, Kaye also helped and visited many housebound friends and she volunteered regularly at Woodmen of the World Lodge in Charlotte.

Kaye enjoyed playing and listening to music, reading, crafting, sewing, and flower gardening. She was also a big fan of Chick-fil-a and never turned down a piece of chocolate. Above all else, though, Kaye loved her church and her family more than anything. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loving God, and helping others.

Those left to honor Kaye’s memory include her daughters, Lisa Lambert Thompson (David) of Salisbury, NC, Kelley Lambert Stines (Allen) of Marshall, NC, and Cora Elizabeth Lambert of Round Rock, TX; her grandchildren, Dallas Sinclair (Amanda), Jeremy Thompson (Ashley), Casey Thompson, Ray Stines (Krystina), Sophie Stines, Allison Villarreal, and Caitlyn Villarreal; two great-grandchildren, Palmer Sinclair and Brooks Sinclair; and her brother, Keith Daniel Harward; as well as countless other loving family members and cherished friends.

Kaye has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Martin Lambert; her parents, Grady and Jane Harward; her siblings, Roy Edward Harward, Wilfred Lee Harward (Bill), Joe Donald Harward, Veigh Harward Lambert, and Mattie Harward Stirewalt; and her grandsons, James Sinclair and Daniel Villarreal Jr.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00am until 11:00am on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte.

The funeral service is to be conducted at 11:00am in the Paul Helton Chapel at the funeral home, where Pastor Randy Wadford is to officiate. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kaye’s memory to Sunset Road Baptist Church Missions.
