Kay was full of life and lived it to the fullest. She resided at Lake Norman for 25 years where many good times were had with family and friends. She later moved to Myrtle Beach to fulfill her passion for Shag dancing and soaking up the sun on the beach. Kay had a natural green thumb and was obsessed with her flowers and gardens. She loved Elvis Pressley and was a true Coastline Crazy Fan over the band Jim Quick and Coastline. Kay was a dedicated hard worker spending her 40 years as an Office Manager in the Trucking Industry.
Kay loved the Lord and was a member and volunteer of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church. Kay had a genuine love for her children, grandchildren, great grandson and all their friends. She was momma to many that never had a mama. Kay was so strong, defiant and resilient no matter what she was faced with. She will be loved, remembered and missed by the lives that she touched.
Kay is preceded in death by her grandchildren Erica Kay Payne and Michael Brandon Davis. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Renee (Wade) Davis; son Roger (Suzi) Howard; grandchildren Jacob (Sarah) Howard, Baylee Renee Davis and Emily Nicole Knight; great grandson Remington Lee Howard; her dogs that she adored Maddison and Reilly.
Visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Saturday, March 20th at 1 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2pm. Interment will be held at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital in her memory.
