Kathryn "Kitty" Ferrell Lockwood

Mrs. Lockwood, age 89, of Charlotte, graduated from this life on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born October 7, 1924 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late B.U. Ferrell and Blanche Jones Ferrell. She graduated in from Harding High School in 1942. After 27 years of service with the City of Charlotte, Mrs. Lockwood retired as a supervisor of the finance department. She was a charter and dedicated member of Garr Memorial Church. Mrs. Lockwood loved everyone, especially children and had a smile and hug for all whom she met.

The service to celebrate the life of Kathryn "Kitty" Ferrell Lockwood will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 7th, at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service with Reverend Jerry Martin and Reverend Randy Briscoe, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include son, Michael, of the home; sister, Pat Flowe of Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Don, Jr. (her fourth son, whom she raised) and his wife, Jennifer, Tonya, Krystal, Jeffrey and Todd; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Alivia "Sunshine", Brielle, Timothy, Jake and Cameron; special cousin, Blon Martin; best friend, Jeanette Brigman; and five puppies, Pudgie, TerraBella, Lil-Bit, Squirrel Bait and Miss Tinkles. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lockwood was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clifford in 2006; son, Dan in 1992; son, Don in 2005; and great grandson, Bryson in 2014.
