Kathleen Bachman

Kathleen Smart Bachman, of Charlotte, known to her family as Kathy, my Kate, Katie and Mom, passed peacefully early morning on Thursday, APR 14, 2011. Her long battle with cancer was fought with both courage and humor.

Kathy will eternally be remembered at her best with her outrageous stories, infectious personality, warm eyes, and classic style while cooking delicious, gourmet concoctions in her kitchen with a nice glass of wine and vibrancy as she shared all of the above and more with her family and friends.

It's undisputed that she was the absolute best mom: never pushing anyone in a direction they weren't comfortable with, and she undoubtedly held infinite support for the life choices and directions we all made. She was never less than proud of all of our endeavors, and we simply wouldn't be the individuals we are today without her.

Kathy's strength and spirit were undeniable in this life and will continue on with all the people's lives that she has touched. She will be missed and forever celebrated.

Kathy is survived by her son Blake Bachman, husband David Renner, and daughter Jordanne Renner from Ohio, as well as her mother Kathy Smart, brother Tom Smart and his wife Nancy Rapp and their children Matt, Lauren and Maret from Charlotte, sister Karen DiMaura and her husband Paul from Boston along with many friends here in Charlotte and across the country.

A service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Sharon Memorial Park in the Mausoleum, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.

A Celebration of Life will be following the ceremony at 6PM. All guests and memories are encouraged and welcome to attend this celebration (2301 Roswell Ave., Charlotte, NC 28207).
