Kathy Rhodes of Charlotte, NC passed away on December 26, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Union county, NC, a daughter of the late Clayton A. Eubanks and Ada K. Fincher Eubanks. In addition she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Melton and sister, Beulah Godfrey.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband Felton Rhodes; son David Rhodes and wife Mary; daughter Diane Everhart; two grandchildren, Sarah Keck and husband Chris, and Houston Everhart; two brothers, Curtis
Eubanks and Clay Eubanks, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rhodes was a graduate of the Barret School of Nursing, in Augusta, Georgia and spent her life serving and helping others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed reading, canning, cooking, gardening and visiting the sick and elderly. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte, with Reverend Dr. Clay Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care of American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank Dr. Geoffery Chapman of Oncology Specialists of Charlotte, nurses’ Donna Small and Linda Gluck and all of the chemotherapy nurses, visiting Angels staff; and Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care nurses for their wonderful care during her illness.
