Karen Irene Gould

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen Barr Gould, who peacefully left us on December 19, 2024 at the age of 77. She was a cherished and loving woman, who brightened the lives of everyone she met.

Born on August 16, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, Karen Barr Gould was the epitome of grace, kindness, and devotion. She married her cherished husband, Michael Gould, in 1970, and together they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their partnership was one of enduring strength, and their love for one another was the foundation upon which their family was built.

Together, they raised three remarkable children: Brian Gould (Janet), Matthew Gould (Sunni), and Daniel Gould (Natalie). Karen was a proud mother, always putting her family first and creating a home full of warmth, laughter, and love. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and spent several years teaching elementary school children.

Her legacy will also live on in the hearts of her six wonderful grandchildren: Christopher Gould, Kyra Gould, Adam Gould, Nick Gould, Brayden Gould, and Peyton Gould. She found immense joy in watching them grow, offering guidance and love every step of the way.

A celebration of Karen's life will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024 at Brew’s Tavern located at 8083 Charlotte Highway in Fort Mill from noon to 2pm where family and friends will gather to honor her life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Carolina or Lancaster Animal Shelter Supporters of South Carolina and Sun City (LASS) in her memory.

She will be deeply missed, but her love and presence will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in peace, knowing she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family that will endure for generations to come.
