Dear Nana, 

I remember one time you said that you can say a thousand words about how much you love someone but not really mean it. You said, it was the actions that show your love for someone. You showed you love me by hugging me every time you saw me, kissing me on the head (even in front of my friends when it may be embarrassing), cheering my name loudly after I scored a basket in my basketball game and listening to all of my stories. You said “I love you” to me a thousand times, but you never had to say it. I knew you loved me and I love you so much Nana.

I know you are having a huge reunion with your sister and your mom and dad right now. I am sure you are celebrating in the presence of the Lord and in a better place. And I know you will always be here even if I cannot see you.

To my beautiful Nana, 

To be honest, I have written multiple versions of this letter. And each time I cannot come up with the right collection of words to describe the impact you had on my life. Words could never do it justice. 

So I will say this, I love you Nana. I love you so much. Your never ending zeal for the Lord through it all was an inspiration to everyone. I am certain you will come in contact with people in Heaven who you have personally had a hand in their recognition of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. 

So instead of focusing on the emptiness and hurt I feel after losing you, I will focus on what a blessing it was to have been your grandson. I will forever cherish the nineteen years I had with you and I will forever celebrate your life. 

When someone asks me about who Judy Troutman was to me, I will say this: She was a strong, loving Christian, who loved the Lord and her family. She was the most selfless person you would ever meet; with a prayer list a mile long. She was an amazing mother and sister. But most of all, she was my grandmother, my Nana. And that makes me the most blessed person in the world.

I love you so much Nana!

Love all the pictures. Judy was one special lady.  I was honored to have worked with her at Bethel.  Praying for Paul and the family.  She will be missed.  We had a lot of fun times at our teacher assistant conferences those are memories I will always treasure.  

I have never known anyone with a sweeter and prettier smile than Judy.  It warmed my heart that a lovely young woman was so thoughtful in her actions to an older woman like me.  I told her I would choose her if I could have another daughter.  Although she was suffering she continued to ask about my health and how I was doing. Praise God  she knew the Savior and is now smiling, singing and praising with Him!
Paul, my thoughts are with you and my prayers are for you and the family!

Our thoughts are with the family. Judy was a wonderful person and our lives are forever enriched having shared fellowship together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. 

Judy's daughter, Kathy, was my best friend growing up. We went to the same school and church. I spent many a Sunday afternoon at Judy's house, playing with Kathy. For that period of time, Judy was like a 2nd mom to me. She was one of the sweetest and dearest people. She made an excellent goulash! She was so warm and caring - a beautiful soul! I know she is in heaven now, with Jesus. And, thank the Lord, I know I will see her again one day.
To Kathy, Kenneth, and Paul - I am so very sorry for your loss. She was the best! My heart and my prayers are with you!

We have known and loved Judy a long time.  She was so sweet and truly prayed  for all. She witnessed to anyone she met and truly loved  the Lord.   We will truly miss her but so  thankful she is well. Look forward to seeing her again. She and my husband Robert shared the same birthday month (October)  and loved cutting up the whole month. So glad she was part of our lives. Love Robert and Judy
 


We will always remember Judy as a very caring person.  She would always ask for prayers for someone going through tough times, but she still remained upbeat in her attitude towards life and Her Savior.  She knew God answered prayers and she did not hesitate to ask prayers for an individual.  We will certainly  miss her, but we have insider information.  She has been worshipping and praising the Lord since He took her home.  She is no longer suffering, but rejoicing in His glorious presence.  One day soon, we will all be together. I will remember Judy as always bubbly and smiling and never at a loss for words.  She, Judy Lankford and I were the "3 Judys" in the class.   I will miss being in Sunday School with her, but Praise the Lord, she is no longer in pain.  

We have precious memories of Judy and Paul at Hickory Grove for several years.  Judy was a happy steadfast  follower of Jesus ; her smile and  zest for life brought joy to those around her.  Judy, you will be greatly missed, but happy that you are home in Heaven.  Knowing you was a great inspiration to us. May God give peace  to Paul and her precious family as they grieve her passing.
